The primary goal of the Rooted Generosity Journey is 100% participation! Can you imagine what could happen if 100% of us who call Mission home would go on this journey of greater dependence on God as it relates to our generosity? This is an opportunity for all of us to discover that living beyond ourselves is the best way to live!
The secondary goal of Rooted is 6.3 million in generosity given to deepen our roots in this community and widen our reach so that more people can find and follow Jesus.
Construction of our future home at 5353 Walker street has been underway now for months and we cannot wait to open those doors and welcome our community into a place where we have put down some deep physical roots. Some of the additional funds will go directly toward finishing well the renovation of an empty, run-down warehouse into an amazing environment where kids, students and adults of all walks of life can encounter God and experience hope for their lives. So many of us have experienced how God has transformed and reclaimed our lives, and together we get to be a part of transforming and reclaiming this building to be a beacon of hope that tens of thousands of people drive by every single day.
This journey of putting down deep roots is about more than just fixing up a building. This is about reclaiming a space where God will reclaim hearts and transforming a place where God will transform lives.
These additional funds will also enable us as a church to expand our reach in every area, offering tangible hope, extending practical help, creating significant ministry, throwing great parties and having a big kingdom impact. God continues to place incredible opportunities in front of us and we always want to be the kind of place that can say yes to His leading and yes to the needs of people. One of those exciting opportunities is that we are going to help launch a new church plant in Santa Barbara this fall to help even more people find and follow Christ. We want to be able to set them up well with prayer, financial support, connections and people! We cannot wait to see what God does through this new church in Santa Barbara! And who knows how God might want to use us in helping plant more life-giving churches on the coast? We are excited for the future of having this kind of wide impact that reaches from our neighbors and friends here in Ventura to surrounding cities and even global partners. After all, there really is hope for everyone! This is such an exciting time to be the church and through our collective generosity, we believe God will multiply our influence and impact wide, in ways we couldn’t even imagine for His glory.
